The DES Law College, established on 24th October 1884, started its revolutionary mission to impart quality education techniques to its students.

Under graduate Program – B.A.L.L.B

Eligibility Criteria
Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with 45% marks. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in case of SC/ST students.

Bar Council rules for Eligibility of B.A. LL.B. (5 Year Law Course) as per Bar Council of India Legal Education Rules 2008, BCI Circular No. BCI: D: 1823/2010 dated 30-11-2010 and Circular No. 02/2010 dated 20-12-2010.

Sec 5 (b) and explanation:- Applicants who have obtained 10+2 higher secondary pass certificate or first degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method are eligible for admission in the integrated five year course.

Applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post-graduation through open universities system, directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are NOT ELIGIBLE for admission in law course.

This year with the help of the students coordinators Ramneet Arora Vth BSL.LL.B , Purva Tatke Vth BSL.LL.B, Konark Gupta Vth BSL.LL.B and Bharath Senan Vth BSL.LL.B actively coordinated the programme for the semester the placement cell had a smooth functioning.

Admission procedure:

The candidates are required to fill an application form, mentioning their educational qualifications. The admission is based on the merit and interview results. For admission to the 5 Year Law Course the candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in their 10+2 exams or its equivalent exams. For the candidates belonging to S.C / S.T. the percentage requirement is reduced to 40% marks in the above mentioned exams.

Placement Cell

With a view to produce complete professional.ls and holistic individuals, DES’S SNFLC has been instrumental in providing access to the students to potential employers and the finest of the related opportunities in this regard.

Besides giving quality education, the college also endeavors to make students enthusiastic and optimistic about the profession by a systematic process and activity driven approach like encouraging the students to participate in various research based activities which help them acquire in-depth knowledge in various fields, articulation of thoughts on various issues at hand, working with team spirit and time management.

The Placement Committee works as a link between the recruiting forces and students. The committee helps the students get opportunities to work with leading Law Firms, LPO’s and Corporate.

The speakers gave insight on the importance of Communication in the field of law and effective communication helps in boosting the confidence. The training session also gave a platform to the students to get the answers to their queries in respect of the communication a need for placements.

The placements of the various students of this college are under a special cell organized by the college. It takes care of the better career aspects of the students. Major companies are Wipro, HCL, JISL, Polaris, Essar, Bharat Petroleum, Reliance Industries LTd., LG, ENLINC Ltd., Sahara India, VVF Ltd, and more to enlist.

Infrastructure:

The campus is so as to provide standard environment for studies. The campus is well equipped with 15 well-furnished class rooms, a conference hall, library with up-to date books and journals and other materials, a computer lab and an administrative building. It also takes care of the sports activities for the students which is necessary for their fitness.

At the very beginning of the semester the placement cell had organised a session Career Options and Career Facilitation In Law by Ms. Nandini S. Kotharkar asst. Professor and coordinator Industry Institute Interaction Cell. DES’s Fergusson College, Pune. The outcome of the session was that the students were benefited with the knowledge shared that there are many opportunities in law at service industry.

The second semester began with a zeal and enthusiasm, by a brain storming session of Prof Sheetal Babar on Curriculum Vitae Writing and Career Options In Law which provided insight to the students that there must be a strong building of Curriculum Vitae and its importance in getting a good prospects.

Apart from this on students demand there was a Training Programme organised by the college on “Communication Skills and Language Skills”. Which was chaired by two renowned speakers Dr. Shridhar Gokhale and Dr. Mangala Herkal (Bhargav).
