The Progressive Education Society`s, Modern Law College, Pune is one of the premier legal educational institutes in Maharashtra situated close to the Oxford of the East i.e. the Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Established in 2003, Modern Law College has carved a niche for itself though it is still in its nascent stage. Permanently Affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Recognized by the Bar Council of India, the College stands as one of the best law colleges in Pune.

PES Modern Law College is one of the most popular law colleges in Maharashtra. The institute is very young but in spite of its small age it has been successfully in carving a niche for itself in the world of legal education.

Academic excellence is not the only point that is given great importance by the institute, but it also believes in the promotion of various co-curricular activities.

All the courses are approved by the Savitribai Phule Pune University, which include Degree programs LL.B. (3 years) & B.A. LL.B (5 years.), Masters in Laws (LL.M.) and various Diploma programs and Certificate programs.

The college offers postgraduate and undergraduate courses in the field of law. It also houses foreign students coming from Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. Special attention is given to the problems faced by these students and even with their counselling and orientation.

Course Offered

The course shall extend to Three Academic Years comprising of Six Semesters

L.L.B. or Bachelor of Legislative Law is an undergraduate Law course. Law is a set of categorized rules and regulations under which any society or country is governed. Just like its postgraduate counterpart i.e. LL.M., the course is unconventionally abbreviated as L.L.B.

The course is also offered as B.L. (Bachelor of Law) in the certain institute or certain regions, example N.V.P. Law College. Bachelor of Law is a 3-year course. The course arrangement is divided into 6 semesters. On completion of the 3 Year Course, i.e., after the 6^th semester, the LL.B. degree is awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduation from any stream or equivalent with not less than 45% marks. (Students taking qualifying examination in March/April are also eligible to apply).

Students who have cleared Law Entrance Examination of MH – CET (LAW) for LL.B. 3 Years Course, Entrance Examination Conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra Government.

Concession of 5% is awarded to the students belonging to reserved category.

Admission Procedure

LAW ENTRANCE EXAMINATION – MH – CET (LAW) for LL.B. 3 Years Course

LL.B., (3 Years Course), Law Entrance Examination of MH – CET (LAW) for LL.B. 3 Years Course, Entrance Examination Conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra Government.

Admissions are at the sole discretion and decision of the Management of the College only. All admissions are provisional, to be confirmed by the Principal / Management and the Admissions Committee. All admissions are subject to further approval by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. Admission shall be given on first come first serve basis as well as on merit of each student.

Ramshastri Prabune Moot Court Hall

For conducting of the Moot Court Practical, Modern Law College has separate Moot Court hall called the Ramshastri Prabune Moot Court Hall. It is fully air-conditioned with the latest equipment of Audio and Visual Devices including LCD Projector.

Shankarrao Kanaitkar Audio Visual Hall

Modern Law College also has the Shankarrao Kanaitkar Audio Visual Hall used for seminar and workshops. The hall has a seating capacity of over 100 audience. It is installed with Audio and Visual Devices including LCD Projector.

Conference Hall
