About LLB Course

Bachelor of Laws, popularly known as LLB, is a three-year undergraduate course that can be pursued only by graduates. Graduates from any field can opt for the course, which is offered in law colleges and universities across India. Students during this course are taught about Indian Penal Code (IPC) and various aspects of law. At the end of the curriculum, they are given the choice of choosing civil or criminal law stream. LLB is qualifying degree for the practice of legal profession in India.

After successfully completing three years of LLB course, one can get a license to practice as a lawyer in any court in India and can give legal advice. Apart from practicing in courts at different levels, working as legal advisor to corporate houses is also a very lucrative career option in law. Admission Procedure

There are two modes of admission in law schools. You can get direct admission or you can take entrance test. There are various entrance tests conducted for Bachelor of Law admission in India. Most of the law schools of India offer admission on the basis of performance in Common Law Admission Test

Usually the prominent Law institutes in Indian conduct entrance examination for the admission process. It is followed by a Personal interview and Group discussion. The selection process counted total of 100 marks with the ratio 60:40 for interview and GD respectively. Eligibility

The basic eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Laws admission is graduation. Candidates applying for this course should have completed their graduation. There is also a criterion for minimum marks required in graduation which may vary from institute to institute. Generally 45% marks in graduation are required for general category and 40% for reserved categories. There is no age limit for taking admission in this course.
