MS Ramaiah College of Law Bangalore (MSRCL Bangalore) is one of the prestigious law institutes in the state. The college was founded in the year 1995 by Hon’ble Founder Chairman Dr. M S Ramaiah. It is recognised by the Bar Council of India.

M.S. Ramaiah College of Law (MSRCL) is located on the New BEL Road, Bangalore. It is located on the same campus as that of famous institutions like M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology and M. S. Ramaiah Medical College. The college offers an undergraduate course in Law.

Offered Course & Duration

(a) Five years BA+LL.B, BBA+LLB, B.Com +LL.B, integrated degree course in law.

(b) The duration of the BA+LL.B, BBA+LLB, B.Com+LL.B, course shall be Five academic years consisting of ten semesters.

(d) Each Semester shall consist of 18 weeks.

(e) The papers and the Syllabus shall be as given in the Schedule appended to these Regulations.

Program Specific Outcome

B.A. LL.B.:

At the end of the course a student is expected to:

Have the ability to understand the mutual relationship between law and social science;
Understand how to use law as an instrument of social change;
Attain the ability to propose legal solutions to the various socio-economic problems of the society.

B.B.A. LL.B.:

At the end of the course a student is expected to:

Understand how to employment lawyers in the establishment and management of a business enterprise
Have the ability to employ legal principles in business management and administration;
Have a grasp of management principles and the ability to devise corporate legal solutions.

B.Com LL.B.:

At the end of the course a student is expected to:

Have a sound understanding of the financial operations in a business enterprise;
Have the ability to understand the commercial and tax implications of a business decision;
Have the ability to propose legally compliant commercial solutions to business enterprises

Admission Process

Candidate can apply through their CLAT.
Admission Seekers must full fill all the required eligibility criteria made under the admission Guidelines.

Eligibility

Aspirant will be considered eligible for CLAT if he/she has passed the 12th examination with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

Aspirant appearing the 12th examination in March/April will also be eligible for CLAT. Such candidates have to produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

Moot Court:

College encourages students’ participation in National and International moot court competitions which will go a long way to enable them to hone the skills of advocacy.
It is a matter of immense pleasure that our students have brought laurels to the college by winning a good number of prizes in number of prestigious national moot court competitions.
College has a Moot Court Federation comprising of the faculty in-charge and student members which co-ordinates moot court activities.

ABOUT LEGAL AID

The Legal Aid Committee is working with the objective of promoting access to justice by rendering legal assistance to disadvantaged people and deliver community legal education to improve awareness of the law. The committee is actively involved in building and developing our system by responding both to the legal and non-legal needs of the society. The committee has also become a Centre for providing practical professional training for the students. The mandate of the Legal Aid committee is divided into –Legal Aid, Legal Awareness and Legal Research.

LEGAL AID: This Legal Aid cell provides free legal advice and counseling for people from various sections of society, as well as facilitating mediation from time to time with the help of students and faculty members through the helpline 080 – 23608230.

LEGAL AWARENESS:In order to improve awareness of the law and deliver community legal education, legal awareness is given in various areas such as employment, unorganized sector of labour, youth, environment and vulnerable sections of the society such as women, children, differently abled and the elderly.

LEGAL RESEARCH: The Students community is also involved in collection of data and research projects in order to develop and improve communication with various authorities and the general public. The committee also encourages and facilitates innovation with regard to providing legal research.

Placement Cell

Placement cell of RCL aims at quality placements for the graduating students. The college invites expert’s professionals to train the students in legal ethics, to face the interview and also involves in career guidance. As a part of this, the college invites Law firms and companies for campus recruitments. College students participated in the placements organized by reputed law firms. College have a large number of students being placed via the Training and Placement cell of RCL.

The Institute is famous for it’s out of box placement assistance and global exposure. Every year some of the reputed companies in the field of fashion technology visit the campus to select the students for their company.
