About Moot Court Activities

Moot Court Activity is a simulation of actual court room proceedings, wherein teams comprising of law students are required to present their case in front a bench of judges in a simulated environment. Students have to research upon a problem given to them prior to the rounds.
The students prepare written arguments with the help of statutory provisions and case laws to be presented orally before a bench of judges and argue on the points of law and facts.
Mooting activity in college: KLE Law College encourages, supports and trains the students to participate in such competitions. The result has been nothing short of fantastic as over the past few years as the students have not only increased their participation, but also won many prizes and awards in various national moot court competitions. The college also organizes Intra College Moot Court Competition to screen and train the students for national and international moot courts. Moreover, as a part of curriculum, the Final Year students have to engage in moot courts on three different sets of problems.

Intra-College Moot Court Competition: The College conducts intra level moot court competition every year to give the students a start in the field of moot courts.
This activity enables them to prepare for the regional, national and international level moot court competition. It serves as the breeding ground for the potential mooters, whereby the students test their ability and skills involved in a mooting exercise. This competition also serves as a preliminary screening exercise. Each year students show a lot of enthusiasm to participate and gradually prove their mettle to represent college in the National and other Moot Court Competitions.
About Surana and Surana and KLE Society’s Law College National Moot: This competition is a joint venture of KLE Society’s Law College, Bengaluru and Surana and Surana, International Attorneys. It is an ISO certified law firm having their presence overseas with expertise in Arbitration, Corporate law, Civil and Criminal litigation, taxation, etc. The theme of the Moot Court is based on Constitutional Law. The 1st edition of the competition was held in 2016-17 and the 2nd edition in 2017-18. In the past two editions the competition has witnessed an influx of challenging rounds of arguments before simulated benches of Supreme Court, by student teams of various famed law institutions of the country.
