Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College was established in the year 2001 and it is a distinguished Law college affiliated to the University of Pune. Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech was established in the year 1990 with the aim of providing education in all fields thus spreading education to the deserving students and thereby helping them to realize their dreams of a career in professional courses. Eligibility Criteria
Students passing H.S.C. (10+2) Examination or equivalent with minimum 45 % of marks can be admitted to the first year of this course.

Rules of Standard of Passing for Five Year Law Course

In order to pass the examination for the First year & Second year i.e. Pre Law Courses, the candidate should obtain at least 40% marks in every individual paper as also 40% marks in aggregate.

The candidate obtaining 40% marks in any individual paper of the said examination will be exempted from appearing in that subject/ paper under provisions of Ordinance No. 0.11.3. The candidate obtaining marks between 40% & 49% in the aggregate will be declared to have passed the said examination in pass class.

The candidate obtaining aggregate between 60% to 69% marks will be declared to have passed in First Class. The candidate obtaining aggregate marks 70% and above will be declared to have passed in First Class with Distinction.

The standard of passing for Third, Fourth & Fifth Year of the Five Year Law Course is 35% in Individual subject and 50% in aggregate. The candidate obtaining marks between 50% and 54% marks will be declared to have passed in second class.

The candidate securing between 55% and 59% shall be placed in higher second class. The candidate obtaining between 60% and 69% marks will be declared to have passed in first class. The candidate obtaining aggregate marks 70 and above will be declared to have passed in first class with distinction.

The candidate obtaining 50% or more marks in an individual subject will be exempted from appearing in that subject. The provision of 0.11.3 will be applicable in this case. The University authorities have decided to award the Degree of B.A.LL.B to the students after completion of three years of the Five Year Law Course. Similarly, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree will be awarded to the students after completion of the Five Year Law Course.

Admission Procedure for Law & Diploma Courses

Every applicant for admission (Local or otherwise) will be interviewed before admission is finally granted to him.
At the time of admission a student will have to pay all the college fees and hostel dues (if any).
All students must take admission personally.
All admissions will be provisional and subject to confirmation by Principal and approval by the University.
If students have taken admission provisionally because of non-availability of documents, etc., their admission shall be cancelled for non-submission of documents within the stipulated time.

Eligibility Criteria
Certificates required to be produced at the time of admission of fresh entrants to the college.

University or College Certificate of passing the qualifying examination mark list.
Birth date certificate.
Transfer certificate of the college last attended (in the case of a college affiliated to the Pune University) for this purpose a student while taking admission to this college will have to submit to this office an application in the prescribed form addressed to the college last attended by him, together with the prescribed fees for the transfer certificate.
In case of students migrating from Regional Universities and students who have passed the qualifying examinations from the college of the Maharashtra State the Eligibility fee will be Rs. 550/- and Eligibility fee for the students from outside Maharashtra State will be Rs. 1050/-. Students have to obtain a formal eligibility certificate from the University of Pune by submitting the necessary application along with the following certificates.
Migration certificate from the previous University.
Transfer certificate.
Character certificate from College last attended.
University certificate of passing the qualifying examination together with University Marks certificates.
