BMS College of Law Bangalore- Direct Admission

BMS College of Law is situated in Bangalore in Karnataka state of India. Established in 1963, it is accredited from Bar Council of India and it is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University.

Initially the college was affiliated to Mysore University, later Bangalore University and now to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and is approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.

The College, situated in the heart of the city, was started during the academic year 1963-64 under the aegis of the BMS EDUCATIONAL TRUST. The Trust is named after Late Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha B. M. Sreenivasaiah, whose philanthropy resulted in the establishment of the First Engineering College under the Private Management of the State of Karnataka.

BMSCL, Bangalore offers 2 courses across 1 streams namely Law and across 1 degrees like LLB.

Legum Baccalaureus or Bachelor in Laws is an undergraduate 3 or 5 year professional degree course that allows a person to practice law. The degree is offered for 3 years for graduates and 5-year for students who wish to pursue law after senior secondary examination.

Bar Council of India (BCI) is the regulatory body of Legal Education in India. Both, holders of 3 and 5-year degree are eligible for enrolment with the Bar Council of India upon fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

B.A LLB | 5 Years Eligibility- ( BMS College of Law Direct Admission by Management Quota )

An applicant who has successfully completed two year regular Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School Course (‘+2’) from a University/Institution recognized by the Central or State Government in India or any equivalent Institution from a foreign country, recognized by the Government of that country and also recognized in India.

Criteria Admission to 3-Year LL.B. Candidate graduated in any discipline from an University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent National Institution recognised as a Deemed to be University

Admission 2021-( BMS College of Law Direct Admission by Management Quota )

An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognised as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognised as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B., degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.

Admission Procedure to BMS: ( BMS College of Law Direct Admission by Management Quota )

Admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of the merit taking into account total marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Provided that while making admission to the course reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be applied.

Candidate seeking admission to the Five-year B.A. LL.B., degree course and those admitted to such course shall pay the tuition and other fees as prescribed by the University from time to time.

No College or Department of Studies in Law authorised to impart education in the B.A. LL.B., degree course shall admit not more than 60 students in one division.
The University shall reserve the right to prescribe the number of divisions in each Law College or the Department of Studies in Law.
