Bharati Vidyapeeth-New Law College Pune
Bharati Vidyapeeth University’s New Law College, established in 1978, is the premier institute of international excellence in the field of legal education. It is one of the constituent units of Bharati Vidyapeeth University Pune, recognized by the Bar Council of India & the University Grant Commission.
The foundation stone of the New Law College building was laid down in the year 2004 at the hands of the Chief Justice of India Hon. Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, the then judge Supreme Court of India.
The new building of the law college was inaugurated in the year 2005 at the hands of Hon. Mr. Justice R.C. Lahoti, the then Chief Justice of India. The college has celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 2003.
The College affiliation is approved by Bar Council of India through Letter No. BCI-D-1029, (2009(1-E.Mtg) Dated 7/7/2009. The college is also recognized under 2f & 12b of the UGC Act 1956. The college is Re-Accreditated with “A+” Grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (3rd Cycle).
Course Offered @ Law
These courses are recognized and approved by the BCI & UGC. Besides this, the college also offers diploma and certificate courses in the areas of specialization in Labour Laws, Taxation Laws, Arbitration Laws, Human Rights, Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws, and Corporate Laws.
Innovative programs in interdisciplinary courses and paralegal courses have also been introduced recently in the form of B.B.A. (LAW), expertise in Commercial drafting, Insurance law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Art of Advocacy etc. The faculty of law also provides opportunities for pursuing a Doctorate in Law.
The college has a spacious seven-storied independent building with a huge Auditorium, separate Moot Court Room, Human Rights Cell, Cyber Cell, Women Empowerment Cell, Legal Aid, Cell, Placement Cell, and Foreign Student Cell, etc. Its Library is rich with classic, as well as, recent works on law and legal systems.
BBA-LLB Integrated Course
B.B.An LLB is also a five-year program. But it is an integration of management and business subjects and Law. This degree program is introduced approximately in 2004 and a large number of youngsters are attracted to this course nowadays. The students who have completed their secondary education can join this course. The students who opt for this course have many career opportunities afterward.
Advantages of Course:
B.B.An LLB covers management and business subjects along with Law. However, the career opportunities for both these courses are the same. These graduates can work as Lawyers, legal advisors, Law reporters, legal assistants, etc depending on their skills and experience.
If one wants to work with the management and business fields then B.B.An LLB will be more advantageous. These graduates will mainly opt for corporate Law, mergers and acquisitions, etc. However after any of these courses, one can work in their area of interest. In B.B.An LLB, the individual gets specialized in corporate law, mergers, and acquisitions.
Eligibility @ BBA-LL.B
As prescribed by Bar Council of India, Rules of Legal Education 2008, the applicant shall have passed 10+2 or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto and have obtained 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC & ST applicant. The maximum age for seeking Admission into the stream of 5 years bachelor degree course in law is limited to 20 years in general category and in case of SC, ST and another backward class applicant it is limited to 22 years.
Selection Process
- Selection will be based on the BBA LLB Entrance Test 2022
- The candidate who has qualified the BBA LLB Entrance Test 2022 shall be admitted to B.B.A LL.B (5-year program) at Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College, Pune in the order of merit secured by him/her, subject to intake capacity
- Admission secured by the candidate shall remain provisional till he/she clears the eligibility requirements prescribed by the University & Bar Council of India
BVP CET
BVP (Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University), Pune conducts BVP Common Entrance Test (BVP CET) for those candidates who are seeking admission to Law programs such as LLB, BA LLB, and BBA LLB which is offered by the university. Every year, the university intakes 540 students through the BVP CET entrance exam.
The application form will be available online around the second week of February for BVP CET 2022 Test. The last date for the exam will be set around the last week of June. Candidates will be required to submit an application fee of Rs 1200 via net banking or credit/debit card.
Only high school graduates (12th passed) candidates from recognized institutes/schools will be eligible to fill the BVP CET law application form. BVP CET is an undergraduate university-level exam and will be conducted in an offline mode.
