BMS College of Law Bangalore Direct Admission

The College, situated in the heart of the city, was started during the academic year 1963-64 under the aegis of the BMS EDUCATIONAL TRUST. The Trust is named after Late Dharmaprakasha Rajakaryaprasaktha B. M. Sreenivasaiah, whose philanthropy resulted in the establishment of the First Engineering College under the Private Management of the State of Karnataka.

Initially, the college was affiliated to Mysore University, later Bangalore University and now to Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and is approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.

During the inception of the College, the Administrative Principal, Late A G Ramachandra Rao, was the Minister for Education in the State of Mysore. His successors Hon’ble Mr. Justice E S Venkataramaiah and Hon’ble Mr Justice M N Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justices of India, were in the first decade, associated with the funding and guiding the institution.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School Course (‘+2’) or equivalent such as (10+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized University/Institution of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Central or State Government/s of India or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that Country for the purpose of issue of International qualifying certificate equivalent to 10+2 on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course
The minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

Classrooms

The College has one of the oldest libraries in Bangalore. The college boasts a collection of 18000 updated books and journals. It has access to national and international journals which includes American Jurisprudence, Halsbury Laws, All England Law Reports, International Law Reports, and Commonwealth Law Reports. Library is automated with integrated library automation Software OPAC for a fine reader experience. The Reading room is provided with internet connection through LAN and WiFi.
Computer lab
The library hosts computer lab. The lab is well furnished and equipped with computers and internet connection. Students can access the digital library and other study materials from the computer lab.

Sports Complex

The BMS College of Law provides a wide range of sports, recreation and leisure activities for students, staff, and faculty. The primary goal is to stimulate the growth, development, and retention of students in a safe environment that develops fitness and wellness, social interaction and leadership opportunities.
The institution provides students with a platform to participate in various college, university and State level tournaments. Students are trained by professional coaches as well.
The college offers various facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The sports activities include Chess, Carom, Badminton, Volleyball, Cricket, and Throwball etc. The college also conducts various sports tournaments. The sports complex also has a multi Gym with a trainer to guide and train the students.

Hostel
To accommodate the demand of non-localite applications received, the College provides hostel facility for both boys and girls. The hostels are with single sharing or twin sharing, fully furnished rooms. The mess has a centralized kitchen and a separate dining hall for boys and girls. Menus for each month is decided by the hostelites. The menu includes special food on all important festivals.

A Cafeteria is a place where students of all courses interact with each other and enjoy good food. After long classes at college, students feel lethargic and seem a little withdrawn from studies and have fun. The Cafeteria at the campus comprises of refreshments and suppers accessible at reasonable rates.
